MARTA ARTBOUND ANNOUNCES
CALL FOR ARTISTS FOR WEST END STATION BICYCLE LANE BARRIER
ATLANTA
- The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) public art program
Artbound announces a call for artists to create designs to be used on a series
of concrete barriers outside of West End Station that will form a protected
bike lane.
Two
artists will be selected to design artworks that will be translated into
stencils so the community can assist in painting the design onto the barriers.
The barriers will be used to create a bike lane along Lee Street in front of
the rail station.
MARTA
has hired Ashley Bella of ArtzyBella to manage the project and coordinate the
community paint days, and the Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) is
donating the barriers.

WHO: Artists with a strong portfolio of work in 2D media
All
metro Atlanta artists are encouraged to apply but particularly those who live
near West End Station or in Southwest Atlanta
